Positioning will be important, as the final 2 kilometres feature several corners. It begins with a chicane around 1.5 kilometres out, followed by a long and gradually curving left bend leading onto the finishing straight via a right-hander with 500 metres to go.
In short, a battle of sprint trains is expected in Ceno before the sprint leaders should finish it off on the Via Ferrarese.
Winning two stages, Jonathan Milan is the most successful sprinter in the Giro. The other bunch sprints were won by Tim Merlier and Olav Kooij. The latter already abandoned the race.
