   The 2nd stage of the Tour of the Alps is a race through the high mountains before a punchy finish in Schenna. Pavel Sivakov bests Jan Hirt in a two-up sprint on the steep arrival in Schenna. The 21-year old Russian is the new GC leader.

   The opener of the Tour of the Alps is a hilly out-and-back race of 144 kilometres. The double digits Hinterthiersee climb in the finale reduces the peloton before Tao Geoghegan Hart sprints to victory. Obviously, he is the first GC leader.

   Monday 22 April - At 144 kilometres, the 1st stage of the Tour of the Alps is a hilly out-and-back race in Kufstein, close to the Austrian-German border. The short and sharp Hinterthiersee climb is crested inside the last 13 kilometres.

    Tuesday 23 April - At 178.7 kilometres, the 2nd stage of the Tour of the Alps travels from Reith Im Alpbachtal to Schenna. Following to intermediate climbs the finish is on a steep ramp.

    Wednesday 24 April - The 3rd stage of the Tour of the Alps is going either up or down. The 106.3 kilometres route leads from Salurn to Balselga di Pinè and takes in 2,650 vertical metres.
