Race report
Bruno Armirail, Mathis Le Berre, Jonas Gregaard, Xandro Meurice and Filippo Conca attack from the gun. The five open up a lead of over 5 minutes before the peloton takes the reins.
Le Berre pockets most KOM points at the first three climbs, and he is the new King of the Mountain.
The gap has fallen below 1 minute on the Col de la Croix Ladret when Armirail attacks. He reaches the summit with a 25 seconds lead before extending it slightly on the subsequent false flat.
The gap starts to go down in the last 3 kilometres, but he manages to stay ahead for a long time. Eventually, he is gobbled up inside the last 150 metres before Magnus Cort sprints to victory. The Dane is the new GC leader, while Primoz Roglic and Matteo Jorgenson finish second and third as the best GC riders.
