Critérium du Dauphiné 2021 Route stage 6: Loriol-sur-Drôme – Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse

Criterium du Dauphine 2021 stage 6 Friday 4 June - The 6th stage is a sprinter's dream before it turns into the opposite at kilometre 113. The last 54 kilometres are all about climbing. Not incredibly steep, but still.

The uphill party commences at the foot of the Col de la Placette. Which is a 5.9 kilometres ascent with an average gradient of 6.4%.

The riders descend towards the intermediate sprint in Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière before continuing onto an uncategorised climb of approximately 7 kilometers. The route then levels out for a bit before the Col de Porte appears. This is a 7.4 kilometres climb at 6.8%.

The riders crest the Col de Porte with 20 kilometres remaining. More than half of it flies downhill to the base of the Côte de la Frette, a 3.7 kilometres climb at 5.4%. Following 3 kilometres on the (false) flat the finish climb to Sappey-en-Chartreuse kicks in: 3.3 kilometres at 6.2%.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
