Race report
In rainy conditions the race stays bunched until the first passage in Lanaken. Then André Greipel and Nils Politt give it go while Pim Ligthart chases them down. The trio races to a maximum lead of more than 2 minutes.
Shortly after the last passage on the line the leaders are reeled in and with 12 kms remaining Dion Smith and Alex Dowsett go on the attack. They are brought back after an 8 kms effort before Yves Lampaert heads for glory. The home-rider is still in front come the finishing straight, but his compatriot Jasper Stuyven brings him back in the slightly uphill final metres. A third Belgian, Edward Theuns, finishes the job of his team-mate, outsprinting Marko Kump and Tim Merlier, while Peter Sagan comes in fourth.
