BinckBank Tour 2017: Peter Sagan outsprints Phil Bauhaus in photo-finish

Stage 1 of the BinckBank Tour travels on a flat route from Breda to Venray. The race comes down to the fast finishers with Peter Sagan outsprinting Phil Bauhaus by the tightest of margins. The World Champion is the first overall leader. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Mark McNally, Piet Allegaert, Laurens De Vreese and Elmar Reinders form the break of the day. In sunny and warm conditions they race to a lead of almost 3 minutes. The gap never really widens and with 3 kms remaining they are caught.

In the ensuing sprint Peter Sagan bests Phil Bauhaus by a hair to take the overall lead.
