World Cycling Championships 2022: Route ITT – women

World Championships itt Sunday 18 September - The time trial at the Worlds in Wollonging, Australia, features two identical laps with a 700 metres climb at 6.7%. The route adds up to 34.2 kilometres and the elevation gain is 312 metres. It's the first time ever that the women and men ride the same ITT distance in the UCI Road World Championships.

The riders set off from Market Street and shortly they enter the circuit on Corrimal Street. They race towards Mount Keira, but without entering the climb. The route zigzags a little until the only proper uphill kicker is tackled in the residential suburb Mount Ousley. The climb on Dumfries Avenue is 700 metres long and averaging 6.7%.

Since the lap is tackled twice the Dumfries Avenue climb appears twice. It's crested after 7 kilometres and after 24.5 kilometres. On both occassions there is a time check at the highest point. The third time check is the first passage on the line.

The finish is situated just after the Flagstaff Hill lighthouse on Marine Drive, a stone throw's away from the South Pacific Ocean.
