Overall, the route of the 4th stage is descending. The riders face 2,714 vertical metres in total, with 894 metres uphill and 1,820 metres downhill. Moreover, there are no proper climbs at all. The route is undulating, at best.
The first half of the race features some minor inclines, but goes predominantly downhill on rolling roads. The last incline is history at kilometre 80, and from then on, it’s a false flat down all the way to finish line in in Zaragoza.
The first three riders on the line gain times bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 6, 4 and 2 seconds.
