Race report
Intermediate checkpoints are after 13.5 kilometres and 27.5 kilometres.
At checkpoint 1 Tom Dumoulin makes it in 17’44”, Nelson Oliveira in 17’53”, Jérôme Coppel in 17’58, Stephen Cummings in 17’59” and Vasil Kiryienka in 18’02”, Romain Sicard in 18’06. Maciej Bodnar passes after 18’10”.
Aru is 0’44” down on Dumoulin, Purito is 1’11” down on the Dutchman.
At checkpoint 2 Dumoulin is fastest in 31’41”. Bodnar makes it in 32’19”, Kiryienka in 32’42”, Sicard in 23’51”, Cummings in 32’54”.
Aru is 1’44” down on Dumoulin, while Purito is already losing 2’38”.
At the finish line Dumoulin bests them all: 46’01”. Bodnar is second in 47’05”, while Aru gives all he has got in the final section, resulting in him being only 3 seconds down in the overall.
