Vuelta 2014: Martin stage, Contador red jersey, whilst Quintana crashes

Tuesday, September 2th - The time trial opens with a nasty climb with streches of up to 15% and the second part is mainly downhill. Contador is impressing on the climb, just like Valverde. In the second part of the race Tony Martin slowly and deliberately pulls in the win, whilst Rigoberto Uran is the best GC-man. The Colombian party is not complete however since Nairo Quintana crashes just after cresting Alto de Moncayo. Arguably Chris Froome's performance is most disappointing finishing 10th in the stage, almost one minute behind El Pistolero, the new man in red. (Slideshow route/profile)
