Race report
Alex Baudin and Mikel Bizkarra initiate the breakaway at the summit of the first climb, Alt de Romanyà. Simone Petilli, Kenny Elissonde and Ådne Holter bridge across and the five open up a 2 minutes lead.

Elissonde wins the KOM sprints at the Alt de Ganga and the Alt des Angels.

The attackers are brought back in the run-up to the Alt de Sant Grau before Egan Bernal wins the intermediate sprint ahead of Tadej Pogacar.

Nick Schultz sneaks away from the speeding peloton in the streets of Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The last kilometre runs steadily uphill and he manages to stay away, althoug Tadej Pogacar opens his sprint with 200 metres to go. The Slovene can’t come across and so the australian not only takes the stage win, but also the leader’s jersey.
