Volta a Catalunya 2016: Tsatevich bests Roglic in sprint-a-deux, Quintana GC-winner
The last stage on the Volta a Catalunya is a criterium in Barcelona with eight times the climb up Montjuic. Alexey Tsatevich bests Primoz Roglic in a sprint-a-deux, while Nairo Quintana takes the overall win. Albert Contador is second and Daniel Martin third after taking a time bonus of 1 second at an intermediate sprint. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
At a high pace the pack heads for the intermediate sprint after 8 kms, where Dan Martin takes a time bonus of 1 second. Then it’s with 13 kms done Armee, Arndt, Bouwman, Courteille, Dron, King, Lammertink, Mas, Mohoric, Roglic, Siutsou, and Tsatevich manage to zip off the front. They race to a maximum lead at 3’20”.
At the Montjuic circuit Mohoric, Armée, Lammertink, Tsatevich, King, Courteille, Mas, Sivtsov and Roglic are left in the lead. Contador tries to put pressure on Quintana, but has to admit the route is not selective enough to make a difference.
In the last round Roglic and Tsatevich are the only riders left at the front. The Russian takes the sprint.
