Tour of Valencia 2021 Route stage 3: Torrent - Alto de la Reina

Friday 16 February - The Tour of Valencia's Queen Stage is played out on a 165 kilometres route with almost 4,000 vertical metres. No big climbs though. The riders tackle a total of fifteen hills.

So one could argue that the 3rd stage of the Tour of Valencia serves a Spanish version of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Although only five climbs did receive a classification, the riders leave Torrent with an exhausting day in the saddle ahead of them. The ascents are not hard in themselves, but it's the ceaseless succession that will weary the legs. To round it all out the finale is a 7.4 kilometres climb at 5% to Dos Aguas.

The race begins in Torrent, where last year's 2nd stage started. That race travelled to a punchy finish climb near Cullera. Tadej Pogacar took his first win of what turned out to be a glorious year for the young Slovenian.
