Tour of Qatar 2014 Results 2nd stage - Tom Boonen wins

Tom Boonen Tour of QatarWith 20 stage victories Tom Boonen is record holder in the Tour of Qatar. In today’s bunch sprint he enlarges the score to 21. He is fastest in a break away group of around 20 riders. Niki Terpstra stays in the lead of the GC.

At 32 kilometers from the finish line Omega Pharma uses the hard crosswinds to break the peloton. A break away group of over 20 renners is fact, with GC leader Niki Terpstra and ‘Qatar-expert’ Tom Boonen. André Greipel is in the chasing Group at 0’30”.

Robert Wagner and Lars Boom take their chances with 3 kilometer to go, but Omega Pharma reels them in. With all his routine and power, Tom Boonen finishes it all off in style.
