Tour of Oman 2016 Route stage 3: Al Sawadi Beach – Naseem Park

Thursday, February 18, 2016 – Stage 3 in the 2016 Tour of Oman leads from Al Sawadi Beach to Naseem Park, both situated on the coast. A 175.5 kilometres inland loop takes the riders to an elevation of nearly 500 metres, yet, odds are a bunch sprint is going to decide on today's winner.

The pack leaves Al Sawadi Beach, a popular resort just outside of capital Masqat, for a race on regular roads. The first 25 kilometres are flat and then comes a false flat at 60 kilometres leading to an elevation of 459 metres, reached at the feeding zone in Al Awabi. Frome there it is a 60 kilometres flase flat down, while the final 10 kilometres are completely flat.

No sprinter should fear today's profile. On the contrary, stage 3 is one of few opportunities to show their talent in the 2016 Tour of Oman. Edition 2014 saw a stage with a similar profile, also leading to Naseem Garden, and that one was won by Marcel Kittel.

The first three riders take time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
