Tour of Oman 2015 Route stage 6: Oman Air - Matrah Corniche

Sunday February 22, 2015 - The final stage of the Tour of Oman is 133 kilometres race between Oman Air and Matrah Corniche. Only two short climbs, the last one at 26.5 kilometres from the finish, so this one should be for the sprinters.

Matrah Corniche is a boulevard in Muscat, the capitol of Oman. It’s fast men’s paradise with wins by Marcel Kittel, Nacer Bouhanni and André Greipel in recent years.

Other than last year the two short climbs in the race are now closer to the finish. Al Hamriyah and Al Jissah are familiar from stage 2. Then Al Jissah was crested with 5 kilometres to go, this time the riders have 26.5 kilometres left to race. So that should no worry the sprinters, since there is ample time to re-group even when dropped.

The finish is expected around 14:00 hours local time.
