Tour of Britain 2023 Route stage 3: Goole - Beverley
Tuesday 5 September - The 3rd stage of the Tour of Britain travels from Goole to Beverley. The 154.7 kilometers long route takes in an elevation gain of almost 700 metres. A sprint finish on the slightly sloping home straight is the most likely outcome.
The riders set off from Boothferry Road in the small market town of Goole before racing exclusively through East Yorkshire’s towns and countryside. Initially, the route heads north-eastwards to Bridlington, from where they will travel southwards along the coast and then inland again. The race takes in Howden, Market Weighton, Driffield, Bridlington and Hornsea before finishing at the racecourse on Beverley Westwood.
Obstacles are sparse. Towthorpe Lane near Shiptonthorpe and Langtoft throw in two minor climbs, respectively 1.1 kilometres at 4.5% and 2 kilometres at 3.9%, before the final 70 kilometres are as good as flat.
