Tour de Suisse 2023 Route stage 2: Beromünster - Nottwil
It's 12 kilometres to get from Beromünster to Nottwil, but a multitude of loops accounts for a race distance of over 173 kilometres.
There are three climbs for KOM points. The first summit is reached after almost 20 kilometres on a 3 kilometres climb at 5.1%. Roughly 30 kilometers later the second KOM throws in 3.2 kilometres at 6.4%.
The riders reach the summit of the steepest hill of the day after 63 kilometres. It's a 2 kilometres climb at 7% that's not classified as a KOM.
The first passage on the line happens with almost 50 kilometres to go. Approximately halfway through the finishing circuit the riders tackle the climb to Oberarig. It's 3.3 kilometres long and averages 4.8% before the route continues on undulating roads to the last 5 kilometres on the flat.
Starting at kilometre 122, the Golden Kilometre serves two opportunities to gain time bonuses of 3, 2 and 1 seconds. The first three riders on the line take 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
