Race report
Such a high pace after the start that the peloton splits in three. In the first group Carlos Verona, Pavel Sivakov, Alexis Gougeard, Michael Storer and Dayer Quintana take off, but the last one can’t follow the pace. His team-mate Winner Anacona bridges across to take his place, while the three pelotons regroup.
With 10 kms to go the leaders are brought back before William Clarke goes solo, yet he is reeled in 6.1 kilometres before the line.
In the ensuing sprint 24-year old Pascal Ackermann powers to the win, while Primoz Roglic finishes safely in the bunch to pocket the overall victory.
