Tour de Romandie 2018 Stage 2: De Gendt solos to victory, Roglic still leader
The 2nd stage of the Tour de Romandie travels over two intermediate peaks. The last one is crested with 60 kilometres remaining, while the finale is played out on the flat. Thomas De Gendt is the strongest man of a five-man breakaway and the Flemish attacker solos to victory. Primoz Roglic retains in the overall lead. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
At km 7 Thomas De Gendt, Victor Campenaerts, Andriy Grivko, Matteo Fabbro and Nathan Brown open up a gap. De Gendt pockets most KOM point at Col des Rangiers and Col des Etroits. Yet, the Flemish rider wants it all today. He drops his last companion, Brown, with 26 kilometres to go before he solos to victory.
Sonny Colbrelli sprints to second place, while Primoz Roglic finishes safely in the peloton to retain overall leader.
