Tour de France 2024 Favourites stage 7: ITT masters step up
fotobureau Cor VosThis year's Tour de France serves up two individual time trials, and the first one is the flattest. The riders tackle 300 metres of elevation over a 25.3 kilometres course. The route is perfect for pure time trial specialists.

Most of the elevation lies hidden in gently sloping sections, but there’s one proper climb. After L’Étang-Vergy, the road goes up for 1.6 kilometres at 6.5% to Reulle-Vergy, with a really steep bit at the start. Two more sections of 100 metres at 8% pep up the hill, but the rest of the climb is pretty steady.
After passing through Reulle-Vergy, the road continues with a gentle incline before descending at mild gradients.
Bike-handling skills are not the most essential to win this ITT, but good legs obviously are. It's a matter of pushing those big gears.
In short, it’s a course made for pure-bred ITT specialists.
