Race report
Imanol Erviti, Luis Léon Sánchez, Nils Politt and Max Walscheid open up a gap after 8 kilometres of frantic racing. Mathieu Burgaudeau and Kasper Asgreen go after them and track them down after a long chase. The lead of the six never exceeds 3 minutes.

Asgreen and Erviti are the remaining attackers with 50 kilometres to go, but not for long. A group with Kragh Andersen, Benoot and Hirschi is chasing.

The race tilt on the Côte de la Croix du Prey. Soler is the first rider over the top. A group with Benoot, Hirschi, Kragh Andersen, Schachmann and Pacher bridges across.

Hirschi heads out alone on the Suc au May, while Alaphilippe attacks in the peloton. The young Swiss is the first rider over the top, 20 seconds ahead of Soler and Schachmann with the group Alaphilippe 20 more seconds behind.

Hirschi extends his lead in the descent and solos to the win.

The GC remains unchanged, so Roglic stays in yellow.
