Race report
Stéphane Rossetto and Yoann Offredo attack from the gun and they race to a maximum lead of more than 5 minutes. The peloton brings them back with 12 kilometres remaining.

Dylan Groenewegen wins the sprint in the streets of Chalon-sur-Saône millimetres ahead of Ewan with Sagan in third.

Overnight leader Ciccone crosses the line safely to stay in yellow.
