Tour de France 2017 Favourites stage 2: Fast finishers fiesta
The route of the 2nd stage in the Tour de France runs from Düsseldorf to Liège. Yes, that's the arrival of one of the hilliest Classics on the calendar, but this is something else. Gently rolling roads lead to a wide boulevard that is screaming for a bunch sprint. (Slideshow route/profile)
At 202 kilometres, stage 2 of the Tour de France runs from Düsseldorf, Germany, to Liège, Belgium. Most of the route travels on German soil. Via Mönchengladbach and Aachen the riders head for the arrival town of Liège-Bastogne-Liège, yet the finish is not on a nasty climb in Ans, but on the wide Boulevard de la Sauvenière in the city centre. En route the riders race gently rolling roads, so the fast men can rest assured. The finale belongs to them.
