Tour de Romandie 2026: Pogacar extends lead with sprint triumph

Race report

It takes just over 10 kilometres before the breakaway gets clear. Then Jakob Söderqvist, Henri‑François Renard‑Haquin, Filippo Conca and Roland Thalmann build a lead of more than 2 minutes over the peloton.

Söderqvist presses on alone inside the final 10 kilometres, but his effort comes to an end 4 kilometres from the finish.

Despite several attacks, the group stays together all the way to the line, after which yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar sprints to a clear-cut victory. Dorian Godon and Finn Fisher-Black finish in second and third place.
