On Saturday 8 April the women set off for the 3rd edition of Paris-Roubaix Femmes. The first two editions featured 17 cobbled sectors, while the pavé began very early in the race. Mons-en-Pévèle and the Carrefour de l’Arbre were included and the amount of cobbles added up to almost 30 kilometres. Roughly a quarter of the action took place on the demanding surface.
Elisa Longo Borghini is title holder. Last year, the Italian soled to triumph ahead of Lotte Kopecky and Lucinda Brand.
Lizzie Deignan won the first edition with a monster solo. She attacked on the first of the seventeen cobbled sectors and soloed to glory.
