Summer Olympics 2016 Route ITT Wednesday, August 10, 2016 - The route of the individual time trial for women at the Summer Olympics in Rio is peppered with two short climbs. The race totals 29.8 kilometres and contains two serious climbs. Kristin Armstrong is title holder.

Starting at Praça do Pontal the women head for the Grumari Natural Park where a 24,2 kilometres long circuit awaits.

The Grumari is the first serious climb of the day. Crested with 10.2 kilometres done, the 1.2 kilometres climb goes up at 7% with a maximum gradient of 13%. Exactly 10 kilometres later the Grota Funda looms, a 2.1 kilometres climb with an average gradient at 4.5% an a steepst sector of 6%. In between there are some smaller climbs. The round brings 4.1 uphill kilometres at an average of 7.1%.
