It is the middle of summer on the Po Plain, so a blistering heat is to be expected. Torrential rain and catastrophic mud slides which caused the previous edition to be cancelled is very very unlikely. Cheering crowds and an extremely fast race are on the cards. After all, Milano-Torino is one of the first international cycling races in the COVID-struck northern part of Italy.
The finish line lies just south of Turin in front of the Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi. Sonny Colbrelli has fond memories of the place. Two years ago he won the Gran Piemonte after outsprinting Florian Sénéchal and Davide Ballerini.
