The tone is set from the gun as the route takes in a short climb to start. The rest of the day goes either up or down before the finish climb kicks in with the first long ascent.
Starting from Frabosa Sottana, the Prato Nevoso climb is a steady affair. The first 2.5 kilometres go up at around 5.5% before the ascent toughens up a little to gradients of around 8% and a steepest section of 10%. The Prato Nevoso is 13.9 kilometres long and the average gradient sits at 6.9%.
