Giro 2021 Favourites stage 7: Sprint with a twist
fotobureau Cor VosFollowing modest climbing in the first part of the route, the Giro continues on the flat to Termoli. A kind of speed bump - 150 metres long, very steep - is probably going to spoil quite some sprinter's dreams inside the last 1.7 kilometres.

A sprint finish is the most probable outcome in a race with the hardest climbs in the first part of the stage. In Chieti, with more than 100 kilometres remaining, the roads are challenging. Actually, it would be a perfect place for an intriguing finale.
Not in this Giro though. The race continues further south along the Adriatic Sea.
If any, the gradients are extremely shallow during the 70 kilometres with sea view. That is, until an uphill kicker at 12% appears inside the last 2 kilometres, which will surely stir up the sprint.
