Giro d'Italia 2016 Favourites stage 11: Sprint for survivors

In stage 11 the Giro d'Italia serves riders (and TV watchers) a mouthwatering finale. With 20 kilometres left a steep climb and with 5 kilometres to go a short and cobbled climb into the medieval town of Asola. A sprint with a select group seems the most likely scenario. (Slideshow route/profile)

To win stage 11 sprinters have to go to great lengths to survive those short yet harsh climbs. First Forcella Mostaccin climb in less than 3 kilometres (but with steepest sectors at 16%) and then the cobbled 1 kilometre ramp into Asolo. A proper way to get rid off a lot of sprinters...

Following the last climb it's 5 kilometres left on rolling roads. We should expect a sprint with a select group, a mix of strong puncheurs and tough fast men.
