Giro d’Italia 2016 Favourites stage 12: For the sprinters

Really, it's impossible for a cycling race to be any flatter than stage 12 in the 2016 Giro d'Italia. So we can all rest assured that it will be for the sprinter in this race leading from Noale to Bibione. (Slideshow route/profile)

Gentlemen sprinters, eat your hearts out! Tomorrow you will be suffering in the mountains, this is your time!

The Dutch opening stages to the 2016 Giro d’Italia might have been flat, yet this course is even more bulldozed. Obviously, the riders are almost two weeks underway by now and the first hills and uphill finishes are behind us. Still, normally no sprinter will have abandoned as the high mountains loom áfter this sprinters party leading to coastal town Bibione.

André Greipel is the big favourite with young Caleb Ewan on the lookout. The German already took two sprint stages in this Giro d’Italia. Marcel Kittel took the other two, but he abandoned after stage 8.
