Luka Mezgec won the final stage of the Giro d'Italia, finally defeating Nacer Bouhanni after numerous attempts. The Frenchman will take home the red jersey however, being the dominant fast man after Kittel's departure.

Stefano Pirazzi won the 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia, attacking the initial 25 man breakaway group and then winning the 5 man sprint at the finish. No major GC changes with the peloton having something of a rest day.
