Dubai Tour 2016 Route stage 1: Dubai Marine Club – Fujairah
All stages of the Dubai Tour are set to start at the water sports centre Dubai International Marine Club. Leaving the city the packs crosses the desert to the other side of the Arabian Peninsula. The finish is in Fujairah, capital of the emirate with same name that's located at the Golf of Oman.
Fujairah is on the other side of the Al Hajar Mountains. One may wonder if sprinters will be alarmed as the hills peak at 500 metres, while the highest point is crested with 40 kilometres left. The stage is closed on a 6.6 kilometres circuit Fujairah.
Last year, stage 1 finished in Dubai and was won Mark Cavendish.
At the finish line time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds are to be gathered. The intermediate sprints in the 2016 Dubai Tour bring 3, 2 and 1 second.
