Clásica de San Sebastián 2025: Ciccone solos to victory

Race report
The breakaway consists of Ben Swift, Darren van Bekkum, Enzo Leijnse, Gil Gelders, Mats Wenzel, Julen Arriola-Bengoa, Jordan Labrosse, Simone Petilli, Gotzon Martín, Anthony Delaplace, Paul Double, and Josh Burnett. The twelve-man group put 2 minutes into the peloton.
The breakaway shatters on the Jaizkibel, while Luke Plapp attacks from the peloton. Labrosse is the first to crest the climb and Plapp joins the first chaser, Wenzel, on descent.
With 52 kilometres remaining, Plapp and Wenzel join Labrosse at the front.
Primoz Roglic puts in a dig on the Erlaitz. He bridges to the front of the race with Isaac Del Toro, Jan Christen, Giulio Ciccone, and Maxim Van Gils.
In the final part of the Erlaitz, Del Toro and Ciccone push on together, while the other three are joined by Léo Bisiaux, Neilson Powless, Tiesj Benoot, Cian Uijtdebroeks, Christian Scaroni, and Plapp also regains contact.
As they pass through San Sebastián, Del Toro and Ciccone lead the chasers by 1 minute, which is halved at the base the Murgil-Tontorra. Christen closes the gap and makes contact with the front two 1 kilometre from the top. He attacks immediately, with only Ciccone able to respond.
Ciccone then launches his own move and powers to a solo win.
