Result road race - Costa wins
The road race of Worldchampionships in Florence is long, wet and grueling. The exhausting battle of over 272 kilometers explodes in the final. Vincenzo Nibali, Joaquim Rodríguez, Alejandro Valverde, Rigoberto Uran and Rui Costa esca in the last climb to Fiesole. The rider from Portugal is smartest and in the streets of Florence he defeats Rodríguez in a sprint-a-deux.

On September 29th 2013 the road race for men will be held. The stage runs from Lucca to Firenze on a route of 272.26 kilometers. A lot of small hills make up one big mountain. In total, riders will have to climb more than 4000 altimeters in Tuscany.
