The 1st stage starts near the Cathedral of Burgos to finish uphill at the gates of the Castle of Burgos. The finish climb is 900 metres long and slopes at 6.1%.
The riders head for a likely sprint finish in Villadiego on the 2nd stage, while stage 3 goes to the steep Picón Blanco. The finish climb brings 7.8 kilometres at 9.3% and ramps up to 15% to the table.
The route of the 4th stage travels on flat to rolling roads from Gumiel de Izán to a punchy finale in Roa de Duero.
The 5th stage concludes with the traditional finish climb to Las Lagunas de Neila. The mountain glacial lakes are located at an elevation of 1,873 metres and to get there riders have to climb 11.8 kilometres at 5.6%.
