Vuelta 2019: Riders and teams
The 74th edition of the Vuelta a España started on 25 August in Alicante Province with a field of 176 riders. Prominent GC-contenders were World Champion Alejandro Valverde, Nairo Quintana, Miguel Ángel López and Primoz Roglic, while Sam Bennett and young Fabio Jakobsen turned out to be the fastest sprinters. Tadej Pogacar finished on the podium and won three mountain stages in his first Grand Tour.
