Vuelta 2015: Riders and teams
Fabio Aru won the 2015 edition of La Vuelta ahead of 'Purito' Rodríguez and Rafal Majka. Other contenders were Quintana, Valverde, Degenkolb, while Esteban Chaves and Tom Dumoulin turned out the be the dark horses of the field. Froome, Sagan, Cancellara, Bouhanni, Van Garderen and Nibali had to abandon the race for different reasons.

Saturday August 22th, the 2015 Vuelta left from Puerto Banus, a luxurious marina near Torremolinos with a startlist that was just as luxurious. Froome, Quintana, Nibali, Valverde, Rodríguez, Aru and Van Garderen, while Sagan, Degenkolb and Bouhanni are represantatives of the guild of fast men. Withdrawals
Stage 2 in the 70th Vuelta saw the first three riders who were forced to abandon: Pelucchi, Tanner and Niemiec, while Nibali was expelled after the race for foul play. Cyclingstage.com keeps track of all riders who left the Vuelta 2015.
