Thursday, September 4th - In 165.4 kilometres stage 7 leads the riders from Logroño to… Logroño. The route is as flat as the Tour of Qatar. We might as well say: sprinters, are you awake?

Keeping up appearances, the organization put in a 60 meter hill at the beginning of the ride, apart from that the route could not be much flatter. The riders take a spin on a local round of 21 kilometres before the inevitable bunch sprint ignites.

The year 2012 saw as similar stage in Logroño. John Degenkolb grabbed the prey and devoured it. It was one out of five victories for the German in the 2012 Vuelta.

By the way, we are the province La Rioja. Back in the days this province was called Logroño.
