Tour Down Under stage 2 Wednesday January 20th, 2016 – Stage 2 leads in 132 kilometres from Unley to Stirling, while a circuit around the arrival place will suck the most energy out of the riders. It is raced five times and features two climbs with an average gradient at 4%. The first is 4 kilometres, the second is 2 kilometres. Uphill finish!

Tour Down Under 2016 Route stage 2: Unley – Stirling

It only takes 21.6 kilometres to arrive at the circuit and with 25.5 kilometres done the first passage at the finish line is a fact. The circuit itself totals 21.4 kilometres.

After each passage a rolling section is to follow and then the road drops to Mylor. There a 4 kilometres climb at 4% lays waiting before a small descent brings the riders to a 2 kilometres closing climb at 4%.

Exactly the same circuit closed stage 2 in 2015. Back then, the local round was in the road book three times in stead of five and Juan José Lobato sprinted to victory.

Stirling and the Tour Down Under are good friends. Edition 2014 saw Diego Ulissi take the win, while Tom-Jelte Slagter powered to glory in 2013.
