Tour de Pologne 2015 Stage 2: Pelucchi wins crash-marked sprint

Stage 2 leads from Częstochowa to end in Dąbrowa Górnicza after five laps of 10 kilometres each. A break of four is reeled in with two lap left and then it's up to the fast men. Caleb Ewan makes a mistake and hits the deck, while Matteo Pelucchi takes his chances and outsprints Marcel Kittel. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Early in the race Martijn Keizer, Sander Armee, Marcus Burghardt, Adrian Kurek and Kamil Gradek attack and they race to a 2 minutes advantage and then the pack takes control. The gap yo-yo's between 1 and 2 minutes and with 40 km's left its down to under 1 minute. By then, Burghardt is no longer in the break.

With two rounds to go the break is reeled in and the race boils down to a bunch sprint. In the close quarters finale Caleb Ewan hits the tarmac and Matteo Pelucchi powers to glory, besting Marcel Kittel, who retains his GC lead.
