Tour de France 2017: Withdrawals

The startlist of the 2017 Tour de France featured 22 teams and 198 riders. As early as stage 1 it was crystal clear that not that all of them would reach the Champs-Elysees in Paris. (Slideshow route/profile)

Due to the wet roads in the 1st stage a lot of riders hit the deck. Both Alejandro Valverde and Ion Izagirre crashed so hard that they didn’t even reach the finish line. Luke Durbridge abandoned the next day due to an injury sustained in a crash during the ITT.
