Stage 1 - Milan-San Remo English style
The first stage of the 2014 Tour de France is designed for sprinters. In 190 kilometres riders head from Leeds (UK) to Harrogate (UK). Stage 2 - Steep stuff with 33% at Jenkins Road
Stage 2 in the 2014 Tour the France starts in York and ends in Sheffield and sees some descent hills. No Galibier of Mont Ventoux of course, but a 33% gradient in the finale surely is something to look forward to...

Stage 3 - Flat roads to London
The 3rd stage of the 2014 Tour de France promises to be a fast one. The distance is a relatively short 155 kilomtres and there are no categorized climbs between Cambridge and London.

Stage 4 - Bumpy roads in France and Belgium
Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 - The 4th stage of the Tour 2014 is the first on French soil and consists of 163.5 kilometres, traveling from Le Touquet-Paris-Plage to Lille. Two category 4 climbs but certainly nothing overly troublesome.

Stage 5 - No climbs but plenty of cobbles
The 5th Tour stage has no climbs, but nine cobbled sections at a total length of 13 kilometres. They are spread over the last 69 kilometres of the 152,5 kilometre stage. Orginally it was nine sectors but due to slippery conditions the organisation skipped two cobbled sectors at the eleventh hour.
