Tirreno-Adriatico 2022 Route stage 1: ITT Lido di Camaiore

Tirreno-Adriatico 2022 stage 1 Monday 7 March - The Tirreno-Adriatico transports the flat ITT that usually was saved for the last day to stage 1. That is, the type of course is exactly the same: extremely flat and running along a sea shore. The ITT is 13.9 kilometres long.

For years, The Tirreno concluded with an indvidual time trial along the Adriatic Sea, this time the course of the chrono runs on the first day along the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The riders roll down the start ramp in Lido di Camaiore to storm in northerly direction to Forte dei Marmi. A righthander-lefthander combination brings them to two right-angled bends to the left in quick succession before returning along the same straight road that they came.

The intermediate time check is taken at kilometre 6.2 - in Forte dei Marmi.

Recent winners of the Tirreno ITT are Wout van Aert (2021), Filippo Ganna (2020), Victor Campenaerts (2019), and Rohan Dennis (2018, 2017).
