Race report
Attacks are flying from the gun, but there is still no break after the first climb, Côte du Mont Saint-Vincent. Then Mathieu Burgaudeau, Christian Scaroni, Stefan Bissegger and Jasper De Buyst make the right move and the four race to a lead of over 3 minutes.
Burgaudeau cements his KOM lead at the Col de Boubon and the Côte de Vauxrenard.
Scaroni is the only remaining attacker after the first climb up the Mont Brouilly before he is caught with 35 kilometres left to race.
Evenepoel gains a times bonus of 6 seconds in the intermediate sprint in Régnié-Durette, Roglic takes 2, and Pithie 1.
Luke Plapp and Louis Vervaeke attack on the Col du Fut d’Avenas before the Aussie heads out alone. Santiago Buitrago tracks him down and the two open up a 40 seconds lead.
Santagio drops Plapp 1.2 kilometres before the summit of Mont Brouilly. The Colombian forges on to take the win, while Plapp comes home in second to move up to first place on GC.
