The 3rd edition of the women’s Liège–Bastogne–Liège is played out on Sunday, the 28th of April, 2019. Actually running from Bastogne to Liège, the route amounts to approximately 135 kilometres. From La Redoute onward, the route usually is identical to the men’s race. (Slideshow route/profile)
Anna van der Breggen won the first two editions of La Doyenne for women. Last year, she tracked down Amanda Spratt on the last climb, Côte de Saint-Nicolas, and left her alone just before the flamme rouge. The Australian finished in second, Annemiek van Vleuten in third.
