Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec 2026: Route

Friday 11 September – The Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec is a 206-kilometre circuit race featuring 2,780 metres of elevation gain. The course consists of a 10.3-kilometre lap, which is tackled 20 times. The finish comes on a false flat, 1.2 kilometres after the punchy Côte de la Montagne.

The start is on Avenue George VI in the Parc des Champs-de-Bataille. Just over 2 kilometres later, the riders leave the park, turn left and, another 2 kilometres later, descend to the banks of the Saint Lawrence. They then ride for around 4 kilometres along the flat and wide Boulevard de Champlain, parallel to the river, before entering the old part of Quebec City. This is the key part of the route, as they soon face the Côte de la Montagne. The 600-metre climb averages 9% and, once over the top, the road flattens out briefly before continuing uphill gently for another 1.2 kilometres to the finish.

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec was the final race won by Julian Alaphilippe in his illustrious career. Last year, the two-time world champion dropped fellow escapees Alberto Bettiol and Pavel Sivakov on the final ascent of the Côte de la Montagne and soloed to victory.
