Giro 2023 Route stage 9: Savignano sul Rubicone - Cesena

Giro d'Italia 2023Sunday 14 May - The Giro presents the second of three ITTs on the ninth day of action. At 30.7 kilometres, the riders storm from Savignano sul Rubicone to Cesena on straight and flat roads.

Stage 9 is the longest and the flattest of the three time trials on the Italian Grand Tour. The route favours pure specialists who can push a big gear.

There are two intermediate time check – at kilometre 9.8 and at kilometre 20.3

The total amount of time trial kilometres of this Giro adds up to more than 70 kilometres, which is unheard of in recent Grand Tours. This tempted World Champion Remco Evenepoel to become the first GC rider to conform his 2023 Giro d’Italia participation.
