Giro 2023: Riders and teams
fotobureau Cor VosPrimoz Roglic, Geraint Thomas and João Almeida battled it out for the overall victory in the 106th edition of the Giro d’Italia. Two other pre-race favourites, Remco Evenepoel and Tao Geoghegan Hart, did not make it all the way to Rome, as did 49 other riders. Two riders turned out on top in two different stages: Remco Evenepoel and Nico Denz.

The Giro d'Italia started on Friday 6 May in Abruzzo with 176 contestants and 51 of them did not reachg the finish line in Rome. Pink jersey Remco Evenepoel withdrew after winning the ITT on day nine, as he tested postive on Covid-19, while Tao Geoghehan Hart crashed out in stage 11.
